Get Social 2017

Hello Everyone!

I signed up for the 2-week long “Get Social Event” sponsored by Herding Cats & Burning Soup. It’s basically an event where we visit other blogs and get acquainted. As some of you may visiting Mama Vicky Says for the first time, I thought I would tell a little bit about myself.

I have only been blogging for 2 years, but it is so much fun! I am a person who loves life. I am a total optimist, and believe life is a great gift, good and bad days included. I love spending time with my family, laughing uproariously, journaling and writing letters. I also like taking nice long baths, and most definitely, READING! I also believe life goes better with chocolate.

I have been blessed with two children, a boy and a girl. They are as different as night and day. My daughter, Daphne, is my General Manager (GM). She also is a dedicated book nerd like me. She keeps my blog going, and helps me with my home-based business, Sugar and Spice Designs. We design greeting cards, make hand-poured soaps, and comfy beanies.

My son, Adam, is an expert on all things EBay. He is a great handyman. He has given me 2 beautiful grandchildren (Okay, he had some help, but let’s not talk about the ex.), Katie, aged 10 going on 16, and Jake, who is 8 years old. They are the apples of my eye. I wish they would always stay little.

I am attempting to write a book about our rotten Chihuahua. He’s much worse than Marley ever was! His name is Mr. Pete. He may be kind of cute because he is tiny and doesn’t have the typical Chihuahua bug eyes, but he is 5.4 pounds of sheer trouble. And he hogs my bed. Don’t blame me. He belongs to my daughter.

I am a registered nurse. My favorite season of the year is spring. My favorite colors are pink and black. I love to swim and take walks and do crosswords.

I am looking forward to visiting all of the blogs during the “Get Social Event”. Thank you for stopping by!

  1. Hey Vicky!

Lovely to meet you and learn about you and your blog through the #GetSocial17 event. Looks like family, pets, and books are your crack and that is me, too. 🙂 I’m the eBay-er in my family and I get into gardening when I’m not working with families or writing. Or reading.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. I would love to read a book about Mr. Pete – he sounds both awesome and terrifying. I’m really enjoying the Get Social event and it’s my first year doing it. I’ve stumbled on some great blogs I am now following. Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself.

  3. After working a double shift today, the idea of a bubble bath sounds great. Of course, with book in hand. But the temps here in Southern Cali are on the high side so instead of a pleasurable relaxation bath, it would feel more like a sauna. I do not like saunas lol Thank you for visiting. Looking forward to seeing your blog again this week!

  4. This Get Social Event has been a really fun experience. I’ve enjoyed seeing all the different blogs and looking forward to Round 2 this week. Thank you for visiting!

  5. Mr. Pete is definitely a challenge. The Mary Kay lady will never come back because of him. I appreciate your comments. Thanks for stopping by. This is my first Get Social Event too and I’m having a blast. See you in round 2.

  6. Our Chihuahua is definitely something else. Thanks for coming by. I’ve been enjoying the event. Have a great week.

  7. I think the book will be a laugh a minute. He failed obedience school and we apparently failed dog parenting school lol He’s definitely one of a kind. Thank you for visiting and have a great week!

  8. I love journaling too. Your daughter sounds awesome your GM, lol! ❤️🌈🌟 Your blog is awesome… I love your header and the font you used 😉…

  9. Thank you for your comments. I appreciated hearing from you. I have to say that my GM and I worked on the font and the design together and I’m so glad you like it. I apologize for the delay in replying. Work has been crazy and I haven’t had much time to blog.

  10. Our dog definitely gives us a run for the money. He is a lunatic lol Thanks for visiting the blog. It was nice to meet you and I enjoyed the Get Social event!
