It’s Monday! What are you reading? (December 12, 2016)

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Happy Holidays! I hope you all are enjoying this wonderful holiday season! Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. One of the many things I like about the holiday is the possibility that there will be Christmas presents under the tree for me that might just be contain a new book or two. 13 more days of suspense!

I just finished a cozy mystery entitled Something’s Cooking – an Angie Almafi Mystery by Joanne Pence. It was thoroughly disappointing. I also attempted to read JRR Tolkien’s The Story of Kullervo, his first attempt at writing a ballad using his own invented language. It was horrible! He redeemed himself with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

I am currently reading These Is My Words – The Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine by Nancy F. Turner. I am loving it. I have been asked to review a book entitled Say Goodbye for Now by Catherine Ryan Hyde (the review will be coming in late December!).

Happy Reading!

  3. Thank you for hosting the meme. I was glad I was able to participate for the first time. I don’t know if you’re ever read The Silmarillion by Tolkien but I couldn’t finish that one either. But I sure will re-read The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings in the future. Wishing you happy holidays and a wonderful 2017.
